Butns.com is a free service that enables you to add as many destinations as you like to each hyperlink on your website (or blog, forum e.g.), allowing your users to choose exactly which information they want and where they want to get it. And it is very easy to use.

If you create a Butns hyperlink on the word 'sushi' and one of your users mouse-overs it (try yourself) you can decide to let him choose from for instance a Wikipedia search for 'sushi', to check YouTube for videos about making sushi or to Google it for a normal search. You can also add a specific search if you know a certain sushi restaurant that you want him to know about. In other words, it is 100% up to you to decide which and how many destinations you will provide on each hyperlink.
So instead of limiting your users to only one pre-defined destination, you can now give them the ability to choose for themselves where they want to go.

What's wrong with the good old days?

One day we asked ourself: How come that web-content and the ways of sharing and searching for it so rapidly evolves but the foundation for it all, the hyperlink, is the same one-to-one predefined link that it has always been?

Today's users demand the ability to choose the information they want and which resources to get it from.

With the fast evolving internet every little helping tool needs to be optimized to be as 'smart' as possible. Sharing stuff with other users and user-generated-content are great new technologies that make it easier to find new things and do more precise searches. But one thing is the massive growing content - what about finding exactly what suits your needs in any given situation? The hyperlinks are the connections that holds the internet together and lets you navigate from website to website, finding whatever you are searching for. The norm has always been: One hyperlink = one destination. But in a time where you discover lots of new and interesting things all over the web and where users are viewing your content in different contexts it is very important to give them the ability to choose what is important for their specific needs.

Can everybody who visits my website use the Butns-hyperlinks? - Yes, Butns has been tested on Firefox2, Firefox3, IE5.5, IE6.0, IE7.0, IE8.0, Safari3, Safari4(beta), Opera9, Google Chrome, iPhone, and should work in all other moderns browsers as well.

Can I save my Butns settings so I don't have to start all over again each time? - Not yet, but we're working on it.

Where can I use Butns.com? - You can use Butns.com hyperlinks almost anywhere you want. If you own the website or are a webmaster, you can definitely use butns.com. If you want to create butns.com hyperlinks on other peoples websites, blogs, social networks etc. you just need to ensure that it supports html editing.

Can I get Butns as a plug-in for my blog? - Not yet, but we are working hard to make this possible.

Can I suggest new websites for the link-to-menu? - If your favorite site is missing from the menu, and you think we should add it, please suggest it here, and we'll look into it.
